Around 200 local businesses have met with Olympic Park contractors to find out how they can become suppliers for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The 'Meet the Buyer' event at Leyton Orient Football Club aimed to increase the number of local contracts won through the London 2012 supply chain.
At the event, potential suppliers found out about the range of opportunities coming up and how to compete for them.
Contractors building the 2.5sq km Olympic Park need hundreds of subcontractors for millions of pounds' worth of supply opportunities over the coming years.
More than 100 companies already supplying the Games are from one of the five Host Boroughs of Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich.
ODA Chairman John Armitt said: "London 2012 is providing jobs and business opportunities at this difficult time for the economy.
"'Local companies are already helping us deliver the Olympic Park and this event will help more get involved. Many will also go on to develop long-term relationships with contractors boosting economic legacy for east London."
