Camden Council has shortlisted two strong bidders who are now in the running to help deliver the Council's ambitious Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.

Both BAM PPP UK and Bouygues PEC are now being considered to become the Local Education Partnership (LEP) partner for the Camden BSF programme.

Each bidder had to fill in a pre-qualification questionnaire which tested the companies' capacity to deliver the wide ranging developments that the BSF programme requires. Each bidder was appraised against various criteria which were examined by evaluation panels made up of Council officers from Camden's Children, Schools and Families Directorate and other appropriate departments, schools representatives including headteachers, senior staff and governors and specialist financial, legal, and technical and design advisers.

Cllr Andrew Mennear, Camden Council's Executive Member for Schools, said: "Both the bidders are very experienced companies which certainly bodes well for our BSF programme. We will now enter detailed discussions with both bidders to determine which would be best placed to help us deliver these ambitious plans which will transform learning in Camden for all our young people."
