AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, has announced that it has purchased the assets and ongoing operations of Journeaux, Bedard & Assoc (JBA) for Cdn$3.7 million.
JBA is a 20-person geotechnical, mining and environmental engineering consultancy located in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 1987, the company provides a broad range of services related to mine tailings management, dam design, permafrost foundations, and laboratory testing and inspection.
"JBA has built long-term, trusted relationships with key clients, most of them in the mining sector," said Luciano Piciacchia, Vice President of AMEC's Earth and Environmental operations in Quebec. "These client relationships will serve to diversify AMEC's client base and broaden AMEC's business opportunities in Quebec and eastern Canada."
The acquisition will strengthen and expand AMEC's service lines in eastern Canada and benefit the clients of both AMEC and JBA. AMEC's clients will now have access to additional high-quality mining engineering expertise.
