Lovell has made some unusual home improvements for a special four-legged resident as part of the major housing refurbishment scheme it is carrying out in Norwich.
The company has built a run for guide dog Bramble who has just come to live with owner Mhairi Claxton in Cowgate.
Lovell, which is working on a four-year £25 million housing modernisation programme for Norwich City Council, stepped in to help after installing access doors at the block of flats where Mrs Claxton's home is located.
"The Lovell workmen also made a flat concrete area so that my husband Bob, who uses a wheelchair, could get in and out of our home more easily," explained Mrs Claxton. "I mentioned that I'd been on the waiting list for a guide dog for some time to Trevlyn Potter, the resident liaison co-ordinator for Lovell."
"This collaboration has been of great benefit to Mrs Claxton by providing her with a professionally built, concrete relief area for her new guide dog Bramble," said Pete Smith, Guide Dogs for the Blind District Team Manager for East Anglia. "This will allow her to keep the area hygienically clean as well as providing Bramble with a safe area in which to relieve. We are very grateful for Lovell's contribution and hope to maintain this relationship in the future."
Lovell is installing new kitchens, bathrooms, windows and access doors through the large-scale modernisation programme it is delivering for Norwich City Council.
