Monks' Dyke Technology College new learning facility for the benefit of students has been officially opened by TV chef Rachel Green .
The new building is part of a regional £6million project funded by the Learning and Skills Council through Lincolnshire County Council, providing applied learning facilities in seven schools across the Lincolnshire Wolds area.
It will be used for hospitality and catering courses for 14-19 year olds, and child development, health and social care, society, health and development courses for the same age group. One of the rooms is equipped with computers; the others make use of laptops on a trolley which can move from room to room. The new rooms will accommodate about 100 students at a time, and these could include students from other schools in the Wolds collaboration. The project was carried out by the County Council, heads and chairs of governors at the local schools, representatives from further education, Lincoln University and local businesses.
