Local residents are being invited to hear more about E.ON's plans for a new onshore wind farm near Knottingley at two exhibitions to be held later this month.

The proposed Ferrybridge wind farm would see the construction of up to nine turbines with a generation capacity of between 18MW and 22.5MW. The exhibitions will feature details about the proposal and are due to be held on 27 May at Brotherton Parish Hall and on 28 May at Monk Fryston and Hillam Community Centre.

Liz Ambrose, Project Developer for Ferrybridge said: "We want to keep local people fully informed about our plans, which is why we're extremely keen for them to come to our exhibition, to meet our staff and to have their say.

"We think this is an excellent location for a wind farm and want to share our views and plans with local residents.

"We really would like anybody living within the vicinity to come along and talk to the project team about the site and our plans."
