T&T Appoints Managing Director Of UK Programme & Project Management Division

Turner & Townsend, the international construction and management consultancy, has appointed Steve McGuckin as managing director of its UK Programme & Project Management division.

This high-profile appointment is for a new role, which will target major programmes and projects in the UK in the private sector, regulated industries and government. Turner & Townsend is the leading Project Management provider for major construction projects in the UK.

Steve McGuckin has over 20 years experience in project management and joins after seven years at Land Securities Plc where he was director of projects. During 2008 he led their Ebbsfleet Valley regeneration project, the largest privately funded development in Europe.

Steve worked as an architect at Grimshaws between 1989-92, joined Mace in 1992 and was subsequently appointed director of consulting until he moved to Land Securities in 2001.

During his time at Land Securities, Steve was responsible for major office, residential and retail projects in London, including Cardinal Place (£220m), One New Change (£260m) and Bankside (£200m), and UK-wide retail schemes Princesshay, Exeter (£80m), St David’s, Cardiff (£350m) and Livingstone, Glasgow (£80m). In January 2008, Steve became head of Ebbsfleet Valley.
