Galliford Try Appointed To £103m St Pancras Chambers Contract

Galliford Try has been appointed to carry out a £103 million contract to undertake the restoration of London's St Pancras Chambers and create 67 residential apartments, a £10 million penthouse and a 244-bedroom Five Star Marriott Renaissance Hotel for St Pancras Chambers Investments Ltd (part of the Manhattan Loft Corporation).

The Grade I listed chambers, built between 1868 and 1876 as the Gothic Revival styled Midland Grand Hotel, originally boasted between 500-600 rooms which Galliford Try will convert into modern residential and hotel accommodation with other facilities, whilst restoring the building's interior to its former Victorian glory.

Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: "We are delighted to be selected to undertake the internal transformation of this prestigious landmark which has such great historical significance and is currently one of London’s most high profile restoration projects. This appointment reinforces our position as a key contractor within both the hospitality and residential sectors. We now look forward to working within the Manhattan Loft Corporation to return this beautiful building to its former condition."
