Proposals for improvements to the A470 between Cwm-bach and Newbridge-on-Wye, Powys have been published.
And people have until 2 April to have their say on the proposals, which will go on public exhibition at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd between 18-20 March.
After all correspondence has been received and considered, Welsh Assembly Government Ministers will decide whether a public inquiry should be held before reaching a final decision on the proposals.
Subject to the satisfactory completion of the statutory procedures and the availability of finance, the scheme could be ready to start before April 2011. Construction is expected to take about two years.
The scheme would follow the line of the preferred route announced by the then Minister for Enterprise, Innovation and Networks in November 2005.
The deadline for submitting objections or expressions of support to the draft Line and Side Roads Orders and Compulsory Purchase Order is 2 April 2009.
