Willmott Dixon's local construction office in Dartford has secured the £36.4 million contract to transform Loxford School of Science & Technology for London Borough of Redbridge

The Dartford team will now create a modern replacement for Loxford School of Science & Technology at the current school site at Loxford Lane in Ilford. It will be built while pupils continue to study in existing accommodation and once complete, the original school building will be demolished.

The new facility, designed by architect Aedas, will create a bright new home for 2,000 pupils and is scheduled to be completed in late 2010.

The project was awarded under the Improvement and Efficiency South East (IESE) framework, where Willmott Dixon is one of 10 contractors on a procurement vehicle set up by local authorities and public bodies in the South East of England. This brings the value of work Willmott Dixon has secured under IESE to over £150m in the past 18 months.
