Peterborough City Council and Opportunity Peterborough are announcing that Bridge Street will be the focus of the next phase of the Streets, Squares and Spaces project.

Work is due to start this month on Cathedral Square which is the next phase of the project to be transformed under the city's Public Realm Strategy to bring vibrancy and vitality to the city centre.

Peterborough City Council leader, Councillor John Peach, said: "As we prepare for the start of works on the first phase of this major redevelopment project in Cathedral Square, it is important that we maintain momentum and continue to invest in our city in these tough economic times."

Detailed designs will be created this summer, after a competitive tender, ready for local residents to provide their thoughts and feedback in the autumn.
