The University of Nottingham has appointed Construction and Management Consultant, Turner & Townsend to project manage and provide cost advice on the new Humanities Building and Centre for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Social Sciences.
The University of Nottingham has invested significantly in its capital estate in recent times with the additional asset to the Humanities and Social Science department ensuring that the University will continue to compete with other national higher education establishments in attracting an ever increasing number of local, national and international students.
The Centre for Advanced Studies in the Arts and Social Sciences, based at the University Park Campus in Nottingham, will create a full integrated and highly efficient research and learning environment for research staff and students across two already, highly respected faculties.
The additional £10m facility will lend itself to a wide range of flexible and informal learning and development seminars and tutorials. Additionally, the renewed focus on providing a comfortable and relaxed social space is planned to enhance the overall University experience for both staff and students.
Peter Orton, Turner & Townsend Director commented: "Turner & Townsend has a long standing presence in Nottingham and we have been fortunate to partner a number of respected city organisations and institutions.
"We are looking forward to working closely with the University's Project Steering Group to introduce a facility that will firmly build on the University’s already excellent reputation for continual investment in innovative learning techniques."
