Faithful+Gould has teamed up with the University of Teesside to produce its latest technological development, which heralds a dramatic breakthrough in project planning.

The multi-dimensional project management tool incorporates the dimensions of time and cost with 3D models, such as Plant Design Management Systems (PDMS) and AutoCAD, and is linked to conventional planning systems such as Primavera and Microsoft Project. This allows rehearsals of planned construction operations to take place in a virtual environment thereby enabling 'what if' scenarios to be carried out to determine optimum solutions for clients' objectives.

Ian Mackenzie, Planning Expert at Faithful+Gould, comments: "The investment made in this multi-dimensional project management tool is providing clear benefits to our business already.

"The tool, which has received support from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Centre for Construction Innovation and Research, University of Teesside, demonstrates increased confidence in project delivery, better communications between stakeholders and improved visibility of all aspects of project construction sequences, cost and time."
