Thirty three trailblazers from across the country have been recruited to support the delivery of the local conversations which will form part of the Tenant Services Authority's (TSA) National Conversation with tenants.
The National Conversation is the largest-ever consultation with tenants of social housing in England offering tenants a unique chance to have their say on what they think of their landlords, the services they offer and the areas of service that are most important to get right. The conversation will ensure tenants' views are central to the development of the TSA's new standards framework.
Trailblazers include representatives from housing associations, local authorities, ALMOs and tenant organisations to run local conversations with tenants all of which will feed into the consultation process.
Trailblazers were trained last week and were shown how to host and get the most out of local conversation events to ensure that tenants' views are heard. In addition to tapping into existing tenant networks, the local events are intended to provide an opportunity for those tenants who would not normally engage in consultation activities to come forward and be heard. This will allow tenants to have their say on the things that are most important to them from their landlord.
Peter Marsh, Chief Executive of the TSA said: "This team of trailblazers will help us take the National Conversation across the country and reach as many people as possible.
"The local conversations are just one of the many ways in which tenants will be able to have their say and help me understand what matters most and what excellent service looks like.
"We are working in partnership with tenants and landlords up and down the country to deliver the National Conversation. Only then will we have the mandate to help shape the standards that tenants want. We want feedback from all kinds of tenants of all ages, backgrounds and experiences."
