Twycross Zoo Appoint Marriott Construction To Build New Welcome Centre

Marriott Construction has been appointed by Twycross Zoo to build their new £6m visitor welcome centre which will replace the existing café facilities at the zoo.

The visitors centre, designed by Alan Newton Associates, will comprise of a 300 seat restaurant area, a gift shop and a large function area. In addition, the scheme will also include the construction of a new snow leopard exhibit and shore bird exhibit.

The eco-friendly visitors centre will feature a 'green' roof and ground source heating and cooling and will achieve a BREEAM rating of 'Very Good' or above.

Work is due to commence on site in February.
