Highways Agency Award Three Firms £220m MAC Contract

Costain, in a joint venture with consultants Halcrow and contractor Colas, has been awarded by the Highways Agency a five-year £220 million Managing Agent Contractor ('MAC') contract.

Under the contract, the joint venture will carry out a range of operational and routine maintenance services and deliver improvements on the motorways and trunk roads in the East Midlands. This covers the motorways and trunk roads in the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland.

The contract will take effect from 1 July 2009.
