Speedy, the UK's largest tool and equipment hire provider, has become the first hire company to bring Genset's solar powered tower light to the UK market as it boosts its lighting range to meet increased demand during the darker winter months.
The lighting tower, powered with a combination of solar panels and batteries, generates significant savings on fuel costs as well as reducing energy emissions on-site.
A seven metre tower can run for approximately six days on one single charge and has a lighting coverage of approximately 50m² - making it ideal for lighting walkways and access points.
David Graham, Managing Director of Speedy Hire, said: "Naturally, demand for extra lighting soars during the winter months, as outdoor workers need to maintain the same productivity levels despite reduced visibility.
"Our customers are increasingly keen to adopt new solutions that offer safety benefits, cost-savings or are more energy efficient. This year we've seen a significant rise in the demand for energy efficient lighting."
