Faithful+Gould has won its tenth project on the national Learning Skills Council (LSC) cost management framework, having been appointed as cost managers on the redevelopment of Southgate College in London.
The contract brings Faithful+Gould's involvement on the framework to a total project value of well over £400 million.
The Southgate College project is worth an estimated £55 million. It began its programme in October and has seen Faithful+Gould provide cost management, supply chain management and life cycle costing expertise. Southgate College has approximately 12,000 students studying on full-time and part-time courses.
Faithful+Gould has also provided cost management services and management support on the £35 million project to relocate Hackney Community College's thirteen existing sites to two new major sites in Shoreditch and Hackney.
Andrew Constable, Head of Education at Faithful+Gould said: "Investment in education has reached unprecedented levels, making it one of the construction industry’s most dynamic, challenging and satisfying sectors. With the number of full-time students going on to further education increasing year-on-year - over 413,000 students enrolled in college or university in the UK last year, an increase of 5.8 per cent on the previous year – the pressure on local educational facilities is immense. In order to cope with these numbers, educational institutions are growing and developing."
