British Gas Business and Centrica, in partnership with facilities company Carillion have shared a prestigious 'Green Apple' award for Environmental Best Practice in the Commercial Utilities Sector, for cutting energy use by 10% in their UK offices.
Managing Director of British Gas Business Badar Khan, who picked up the award at a ceremony at the House of Commons said: "This is a fantastic achievement that everyone at British Gas Business has played a part in. Employees across the business have really embraced our energy-saving schemes and should feel rightly proud of this success."
Green Apple awards for environmental best practice and sustainable development are presented by The Green Organisation, an independent, non-political and non-profit environment group.
The award is for the Energy and Carbon Reduction Campaign, which began in April 2007, with the aim of reducing energy consumption by 10%. Trials took place at British Gas Business offices in Oxford and Leicester.
