Seven volunteers from Shepherd Construction in York have been getting creative in the name of charity by taking part in an interior decoration project for learning disability charity Mencap.
The Shepherd Construction volunteering team used their decorating skills to bring colour to a Mencap supported living service in York. The building is home to six people with profound and multiple learning disabilities and the Shepherd Construction team have helped to make it as homely as possible for the people who live there.
Gail Gillatt, Marketing Manager for Shepherd Construction said: "We had a fantastic time. It was great to get involved in a very practical way with Mencap as one of our nominated charities, and we felt very proud that even by simply redecorating the living quarters, we had helped enhance the lives of the six residents."
