Osborne, one of the UK’s leading construction, civil engineering and property services companies, has been short-listed by London Underground Limited as a framework contractor for its £2.8bn Vendor Capital Programme.

Following a rigorous selection process, Osborne is one of only eight contractors chosen to work on projects worth between £3.5m and £10m.

The five-year Programme involves the design and construction of major building and civil engineering projects across the London Underground network and includes the enhancement of stations and infrastructure.

Mike Purdue, Procurement Director of Osborne's Rail Division said: "The intensive selection process examined our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Management capabilities and fully tested our project and risk management procedures and we are delighted to have been selected by London Underground to work on this major programme."

Osborne will build new footbridges and lifts at stations across London to provide better access and to enable London Underground to comply with Disability Discrimination Act regulations.

Initial framework projects are planned to commence in early 2009.
