Freefoam Continues To Grow

Freefoam Plastics, the market leader in environmentally friendly and UV protected roofline and rainwater products, has continued to grow with UK sales up over 6% during the first three quarters of 2008 compared with the same period last year. The growth in sales highlights Freefoam's continued investment for the future in all aspects of its operations in a difficult market.

Freefoam's continued investment in state-of-the-art plant and equipment at its Northampton manufacturing plant is just one element contributing to the Freefoam success story. Freefoam has also invested heavily in research and development for many years resulting in several innovations such as its roofline colour range and technology, UV protected products, coextruded Freeflow® rainwater systems and its pioneering lead free technology.

The market has also changed. At one time over a dozen manufacturers supplied the market. This has now been reduced to just a few significant players as the trading environment has become more challenging. Significant increases in operating costs, consolidation at several levels of the supply chain, globalised markets, slowing economic growth and more recently credit restrictions have culled the numbers of suppliers.

Aidan Harte, Finance Director, commented: "We are delighted that Freefoam has continued to grow in 2008 despite the challenging trading environment. We believe this growth is the result of our continued commitment to investing for the future. It will enable Freefoam to serve its customers with the highest product quality and service for many years to come. We also believe that this investment will help us become the no. 1 manufacturer of roofline products in Europe."
