Affordable housing will be provided elsewhere under plans for housing at a former commercial site in Hendy, Wales.
Carmarthenshire County Council's planning committee will consider a reserved matters application for 35 houses on land at the former Griffiths Pallet Services site at Heol y Parc.
The development will require the provision of affordable housing as part of the scheme.
The officers' report to the committee says that an agreement has been made for the developers David McLean Homes to pay £100,000 to provide affordable housing off-site. This is because of the high cost of dealing with on-site contamination, connecting to the public sewers and rerouting overhead power lines.
The developers will also provide a local equipped area of play and informal open grassed area. They will be equipped and maintained by a management company belonging to the developers.
Officers are recommending approving the application.
