Galliford Try has been awarded two education contracts worth a total of £16.3 million to build new facilities for Bucks New University and Liverpool Community College.
Galliford Try will undertake a £13 million contract to build the first phase of student accommodation units for Bucks New University in partnership with H2E Ltd in High Wycombe. The Design & Build contract will involve the construction of accommodation comprising bedrooms, disabled units, communal kitchen/lounges, mature student units, incubator office units, an office, a laundrette and a common room/bar. Work on site started in August and will be completed by August 2009.
The second contract win for Galliford Try worth £3.3m involves the construction of a four-storey 450 sq m extension on behalf of Liverpool Community College. The extension will be built at the rear of college's Arts Centre and Mulberry Street campuses to provide new facilities comprising dance studios, a multi media suite, a journalism suite and an art, design and graphics area. Project completion is expected in April 2009.
