The National Housing Federation (NHF) has criticised the Government on its latest energy announcement.
Helen Williams, Assistant Director at the NHF said: "Overall, we would give the Government five out of ten for this package. On the surface there was much that looked good, but ultimately many fat cat energy bosses will be able to sleep easy tonight.
"The energy efficiency programme is a good step forward, but the Government has failed to take tough action to force the energy fat cats to do the right thing.
"It's the job of the energy companies to make lots of money, but it's the job of ministers to make sure they don't exploit the British public through blatant profiteering. At the moment they are clearly failing to do this."
