Storwell Systems UK Secures Associated Press Contract

Storage specialists - Storwell Systems UK based in Redditch, West Midlands has secured a major contract to supply Associated Press - the world leaders in news gathering services - with their new Photo Archive Library storage system.

The Associated Press HQ building is the former site of a Bonded Liquor warehouse located in Camden Lock London.

Photographs, slides and stills from collections all over Europe are coming together into one central archive in London. Mr Rob Taggart - Director of Commercial Photo Operations for Europe, Middle East & Africa was looking for expert advice and the most efficient method of storing the vast collection of photographs. He chose Storwell because of their experience and competitive bid which made a compelling case to beat off stiff competition.

The new library archive system has nearly 200 bays of shelving with the capacity to store around 10,000 archive boxes and 70 linear metres of lateral hanging files.

"All of this storage capacity was able to be squeezed into only 80 sq metres of available space," said Sanat Shelat UK Sales Director for Storwell Systems.

"And this was only possible using our tailor-made high density mobile storage system."

Supplied in component form for easier access and installed in under four weeks from receipt of order is also one of the fastest turnaround times for a Turnkey project in the industry as well.
