Construction and Management consultancy Turner & Townsend has been appointed as Cost and Commercial Advisors on the North West project in Sydney.

The A$12 billion project will be Australia’s largest transport project and is the first major transport initiative under the NSW Government’s Sydney Link program.

Construction of the North West Metro line will commence in 2010, with the first trains operating on part of the route by 2015.

The completed route will have 17 stations running from Rouse Hill through to Castle Hill, Epping, Gladesville to Wynyard and St James and will significantly reduce journey times into the city.

Turner & Townsend's appointment continues the company's success in the infrastructure and transport sector. Current commissions include the Gold Coast Rapid Transit project, Dublin Metro North, London's Cross River Tram and the CrossRail project.
