Householders in Llwynhendy, Wales, are being offered a chance to find out how to cut their fuel bills.

Carmarthenshire County Council's Home Improvement Team is running a scheme for all householders in the area with Miller Pattison, one of the largest home insulation companies in the country. The scheme offers free insulation to a wide range of householders, including anyone aged over 70, or those on a range of welfare benefits.


Council Executive Board Member for Housing Cllr Huw Evans said: "This is an important initiative, which will not only help people to cut down their fuel bills, but will also help to reduce environmental damage."

The scheme, which will be rolled out to other parts of the county over coming months, is already having some success. From the initial surveys carried out, nearly 150 households in the Llwynhendy area will be having cavity wall insulation fitted.

All Miller Pattison staff will be carrying identification with them, and the Council will write to householders to inform them that they will be working in their area.
