Construction consultants Turner & Townsend have reached the finals of the APM Awards in three major categories at this year’s prestigious Association for Project Management (APM) Awards to be held on 29 October at The Brewery in London.
For the past 15 years the APM Project Management Awards have been rewarding and celebrating project management success. The awards reflect the invaluable contribution project management and project managers make.
Leeds-based Julie Hirlam has been nominated for Project Manager of the Year for her work on the delivery of a new campus for Bradford College for their sports, construction and engineering curriculum as the first phase of an Estates Rationalisation programme.
Turner & Townsend has an excellent track record of producing winners in the Project Manager of the Year for their support to Dublin Airport. Working on secondment in Ireland, Iain has been responsible for taking their Terminal 1 Expansion project from inception to construction.
Turner & Townsend is also listed for Community Project of the Year for the Stephen Lawrence Centre in Depford, London, which was conceived and developed to act as a catalyst and enabler to provide opportunities for disadvantaged youth.
Its principal aims are to develop their aspirations and skills providing them with the opportunity to develop successful and sustainable careers in architecture and the built environment.
This Community Project of the Year accolade was presented to Turner & Townsend in 2007 for its work on the redevelopment of Birkenhead Park.
Bill Woolgar, Turner & Townsend Managing Director, said: "We are delighted that our project management expertise has been recognised. Our success can be attributed to our commitment to our clients and a thorough understanding of their needs. I would like to wish Julie and Iain and the team involved in the Stephen Lawrence Centre the very best of luck."
