Faithful+Gould Appoint Senior CDM CO-Ordinator

Bob Petrie, a leading figure in the North East health and safety sector, has joined Faithful+Gould's Newcastle office as a Senior CDM Co-ordinator.

In his new role Bob will be taking on the responsibility of advising clients of their health and safety responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) (CDM) regulations, which were introduced in April 2007.

Bob brings with him 45 years of international hands-on building and civil construction experience gained while working as a principal contractor, a specialist subcontractor, a client and designer throughout the UK, Middle East, Africa and the Far East.

Having worked on a number of high profile projects in the past for Greater Manchester Police and Leeds Metropolitan University, Bob is already heavily involved in the early stages of a high profile PFI education initiative for Faithful+Gould which will see him advising stakeholders on their duties under CDM regulations, and thereby facilitating the opportunity to improve planning and management to produce a quality project completed safely and on time.

Speaking about his new role, Bob said: "I am really passionate about my role and am delighted to be joining such a dynamic company which has a great reputation in the industry for valuing the importance of health and safety.

"The earlier I become involved in a project is crucial, as following my appointment I then work with the client, design team and principal contractor in minimising or ideally eliminating the health and safety risks associated with the build ability, construction phase and ongoing life of the project.

"I look forward to being able to utilise my experience to make a positive contribution to Faithful+Gould's wide variety of high profile projects with my ultimate aim of achieving a safe environment."
