Industry Development Services Ltd (IDSL), part of E.ON's Energy Services business, has been named as one of the best in its field at the 2008 Gas Industry Awards.

IDSL was awarded the 2008 Energy and Utility Skills Business Skills Awards for training Young Apprentices at NVQ Level 2.

The award was made in recognition of IDSL's innovative programme in training and supporting apprentices.

IDSL, based in Tipton, delivers NVQ Level 2 in Gas Installation & Maintenance, Plumbing Framework at Levels 2 and 3 also Key Skills, Train to Gain initiative, as well as many other industry related courses.

Valerie Graham, Managing Director of IDSL, said: "We're all delighted that IDSL has been recognised with this award. We're working hard to respond to the needs of the industry - and provide high quality training and great career prospects for young people.

The Gas Industry Award, sponsored by Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills), the Sector Skills Council for the electricity, gas, waste management and water industries, recognises initiatives that have contributed towards business skills.
