East Stour Primary from Ashford won £600 after winning the Engineering Challenge at Dungeness B Power Station sponsored by British Energy and Alstec.
Five primary schools from Kent and East Sussex took part in the competition on Friday 23 May as they tested their engineering skills on a variety of tasks.
"All the children that took part were a credit to their schools in terms of behaviour, teamwork and enthusiasm," said Terry Mosley an Industrial Safety Engineer at Dungeness B.
"The standard was excellent and the future of engineering is positive judging by the amount that the youngsters achieved."
The students had to build robots, racing cars, and hovercrafts during their day at the power station's training centre with each school taking home at least £250 in prizes.
