The disabled and the elderly in Cherwell will be able to adapt and improve their homes with Council grants totalling over one million pounds.
It follows the Council's Executive approving on 12 May an updated private sector housing grant policy.
Landlords will also be able to use some of the grant money to install first-time central heating in rented properties. They can also apply for grants to carry out essential repairs and improvements and to improve energy efficiency savings in these homes.
"This updated policy will make Cherwell a healthier place to live by improving the homes in the private sector," said Cllr Michael Gibbard the Portfolio Holder for Planning and Housing.
"Grants are a key tool in helping the Council meet its housing strategy targets particularly with giving assistance to disabled people, improving private sector housing conditions, and providing decent homes for the vulnerable in the private sector."
