Swish Building Products is warning Social Housing Providers about the cost implications of long term timber maintenance.
The company will be revealing its 'timber maintenance cost calculator' at this year's Harrogate CIH exhibition from 17 to 19 June as part of its initiative to demonstrate the sustainability of cellular PVC.
By inputting their own data into four different variables including number of properties, maintenance interval, inflation and cost per property, the calculator is able to determine the projected timber maintenance costs over the 60-year life of a building.
Greg Wilde, Marketing Manager, Swish Building Products, said: "Swish roofline and cladding systems can deliver significant savings over a building’s lifetime. The movement towards making construction more sustainable, including such initiatives as the now mandatory Code for Sustainable Homes, is making material choice even more critical."
