Detailed planning permission has been given for the first phase of development of new homes for the former CompAir Holman site in the Dolcoath area of Camborne.

The site was acquired by English Partnerships, the national regeneration agency, and the first phase will provide 95 new family homes.

The development for the overall site will involve an investment of £90 million for 390 homes.

David Warburton, English Partnerships Area Director for the South West, commented on the approval: "I am delighted that our plans for this first phase have been endorsed by the local authority. Having that support is crucial to the success of the project and to the provision of new homes and employment opportunities.

"Twenty four of the new homes will be affordable and provide for rent or shared ownership. All the homes will be built according to English Partnerships' Quality standards by our development partner Midas Homes.

"The homes will achieve quality standards including life-long design and accord to Code 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes."
