A brickwork training recruitment event is taking place in Huddersfield on 8 May.

People living in Kirklees, aged 19 years or over and either unemployed or working less than 16 hours a week are invited to attend the event which starts at 10.30am at the National Children's Centre, Huddersfield.

'build' - a local purchasing and local labour initiative for the construction industry in Kirklees - is offering a 37-week training opportunity in brickwork with an opportunity to gain an accredited qualification.

There are currently 12 places available. The course is being offered through the 'b-best' project which is funded by Yorkshire Forward through the Kirklees Skills Investment Plan. No previous qualifications or experience are necessary.
