Galliford Try Scoops £26m Leamington Spa Justice Centre Contract

Galliford Try has been awarded a £26m contract to build a new justice centre in Leamington Spa on behalf of Warwickshire Police Authority.

Galliford Try will build the centre on the site of the former Magistrates' Court which will include 24/7 policing facilities, Judicial Services, Crown Prosecution Services, Crown, Magistrates, Family, Youth and County Courts, Probation Service, Youth Offending Service and Victim & Witness Support Services.

The new five-storey building will link together with existing police premises, providing nine new courts. Demolition work will commence in early May 2008 with construction starting in July 2008. Completion is expected in July 2010.

Chris Bond of Galliford Try Construction Central said: "We are really pleased to be awarded this prestigious contract. It is a fabulous looking building and will provide a 21st century justice facility. We are looking forward to continuing the good work undertaken to date and getting works underway on site."
