Motorists and pedestrians are set to benefit from major improvement works starting early next month at Grantham’s London Road, Wharf Road and High Street junction.
The scheme is to upgrade the existing traffic signals and amend the junction alignment to improve HGV movements at this junction, thereby improving traffic flows. The improvements also include new pedestrian islands to assist crossing pedestrians, as well as overall enhancements to this entrance to Grantham High Street.
Highways are striving to keep disruption to a minimum by working overnight and during weekends.
The works, starting on 6 May, will last approximately 10 weeks and drivers are advised to make alternative arrangements, where possible, to avoid these necessary works.
The works have been agreed with the contractors following issues raised by the Grantham Business Club during an open meeting with County Council Highways earlier this year.
