Energy company E.ON is holding a second series of public exhibitions to give local people a chance to find about more about its proposed £700m offshore wind farm off Spurn head.
If approved, the 300MW Humber Gateway Offshore Wind Farm, which would consist of up to 83 turbines, would generate enough clean, renewable energy to power up to 195,000 homes. The project will also see the construction of a 30km underground cable which will connect the wind farm to a substation near Salt End, east of Hull.
The three exhibitions will take place at venues in Easington, Withernsea and Hedon, with staff on hand to answer questions and provide information.
Chris Sherrington, project manager for E.ON, said: "We want to ensure that residents who might be affected by the wind farm or who live on the cabling route are fully aware of our plans. These public exhibitions will give local people a chance to talk to the project team and ask any questions they may have.
"Humber Gateway will not only play a major part in helping the country reach its renewable and carbon emission reduction targets, but it will provide a clean, secure supply of energy to help keep the lights on for homes and businesses across the East Riding."
