Doncasters Group Invest £16m In Blaenavon Plant

Doncasters Group Ltd., a leading global manufacturer of precision components for the aerospace and industrial gas turbine industries, is investing £16 million to expand the capabilities of its Blaenavon plant, creating 125 new jobs.

This latest project by the Group in Wales is in addition to a previous investment of £4 million in Blaenavon for the development of the company's engine-ready components strategy. The new investment will enable the Group to undertake work in Wales that was previously sub-contracted to a specialist supplier. The company had considered locating the new facility in Poland before opting for Blaenavon.

Construction of the new purpose-built premises will begin next month, and the project, which is being supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Deputy First Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones said: "This is the latest in a series of investments by Doncasters that has made Blaenavon a key site for this world-leading, international engineering company.

"The continued development of the plant, with the full support of the Assembly Government, has made it not only an important local employer but also a flagship for the engineering sector in Wales as a whole."
