Builders Rescued After 40ft Plunge

Firefighters have rescued two men who plunged 40ft down a shaft on a building site in Yorkshire yesterday.

Darren Cousins, 39, and Andy Topham, 40, were trapped down the shaft, on Daniel Hill, for over an hour before the fire service brought them to safety.

Both men were wrapped in foil blankets and treated by paramedics at the scene.

They were both taken to hospital but it is believed their injuries are not serious.
