Plans Approved For £2.6m Development In Hampshire

Fareham-based construction firm Amiri has had plans approved to build a new shelter for homeless people in Hampshire.

The £2.6m development will provide housing and employment for up to 23 homeless people and the brand new building will also be environmentally-friendly.

The building will comprise bedrooms with en-suite facilities as well as a dedicated workshop area and retail unit for the restoration and sale of donated furniture at affordable prices.

It will also include solar thermal panels to provide hot water, photovoltaic cells to generate electricity and a grey water harvesting system.

The development is due to be completed by Spring 2009.
