Morriston Comprehensive pupils are taking their first lessons in a state-of-the-art new science and maths block.
Youngsters at the Swansea school were delighted to take their seats in a multi-million pound new building on their return from their Easter break.
The £3 million new extension contains modern laboratories and designated teaching bases for mathematics, and the whole development has been equipped with a sprinkler system.
The project was delivered by Swansea Council's Corporate Building Services and Education Departments.
The next phase of the project will be the demolition of the two older demountables remaining on site. Removal is planned for the end of May.
Head teacher at Morriston Comprehensive, Wayne Newton, said: "This has make an exciting start to the new term and will greatly enhance our science and maths provision.
"Now that we are inside it is clear that the facility has been worth the wait and everyone is determined to put it to the best use.
"I am delighted at the efforts made by our staff and council officers who put in extra effort to make this move go smoothly."
