Senior Aluminium Systems (SAS) have given a university building a brand new look.
Gateway House at DeMontfort University in Leicester was given a £850,000 make over by the company with the help of fabricator Insight Architectural.
Insight Architectural manufactured and installed a range of SAS products including the high performance SCW curtain wall, which covers all seven stories of the 1950's building.
Sets of SD doors and strips of SPW300 windows envelop the building. The windows are thermally broken and double glazed and were specified to be casement and tilt and turn.
Products were powder coated white in a satin finish at SAS’ impressive paint plant in Doncaster, with 444 units of windows and doors used in total.
Steve Wightman, Sales and Marketing Director at SAS, said: "This project is probably one of the biggest we have undertaken in terms of the sheer size of the order required to complete it.
A building that is over 50 years old has been completely transformed and updated, bringing it right into the 21st century."
