Plans for a new £40 million stadium for Newport RFC have ensured the future of rugby in the city.
The 15,000 capacity stadium, on the site of its current ground Rodney Place, will have new training facilities and a clubhouse.
The new stadium will be open in 2010, subject to planning permission, and it will be just before the city hosts the Ryder Cup in October of that year.
The development will also include corporate box, conference and leisure facilities which will also be available for community use.
