Brodies LLP has completed the sale of Aberdeen-based CML Biotech Limited to Intertek UK Holdings Limited, part of Intertek Group Plc for an initial cash consideration of £8 million.
CML Biotech provides laboratory and consultancy services to the upstream oil and gas industry.
Shuna Stirling, Partner in Brodies, said: "The Aberdeen deals market is particularly lively at the moment and we are pleased to have worked with CML to reach a positive conclusion on the acquisition by Intertek. This is one of a number of deals we are working on in the north east at the moment."
CML Biotech is the holding company for the Commercial Microbiology Group. Intertek Group Plc (ITRK.L) acquired CML from its management shareholders Stephen Maxwell and John McCulloch for an initial cash consideration in addition to a further earn out dependent on future financial results.
CML supports oil and gas exploration companies in addressing bacterial contamination of pipelines and infrastructure used during production, storage, and extraction of oil and gas reserves. It provides consultancy services, preventative maintenance advice as well as analytical and manufacturing services to the upstream oil and gas industry.
Brodies pooled a team of lawyers to advise CML Biotech on the sale, one of a number of listed transactions in recent months.
