Site clearance and piled foundation works at the £25 million Riverside Drive residential development are set to begin next week following successful completion of the site's civil and structural design works, by global multidisciplinary engineering consultancy Halcrow.
Owned by Duncarse Riverside Limited, Riverside Drive will become a gateway development within the heart of Dundee.
Jamie Baxter, Regional Director for Halcow, is pleased to see the project come to fruition. He said: "This is the first major building project we've worked on in Dundee and as such are naturally delighted to have been appointed for such a landmark development."
After carrying out pre-planning works which include an environmental desk study, ground investigation works, conceptual and outline designs, liaison with statutory authorities, and production of a sustainable storm water drainage scheme, Halcrow is happy that construction of the works can begin in earnest. 202 apartments, built in five separate blocks of between seven to nine storeys, are to be completed in phases between autumn 2009 and summer 2011.
