Recycler, the state-of-the-art rapping robot, was invited by St Helens Council to visit eight primary schools in St Helens to spread the word on recycling.

The show was aimed at teaching pupils and teachers all about the three Rs: 'Reduce, Reuse and Recycle'. Recycler shows children what they can do to make a difference and gives examples of how they can put the three R's into practice at home and school.

The Recycler programme is part of the national Recycle Now communications campaign and is supported by WRAP and Waste Watch in partnership with the Council.

Dave Taggart, Education Officer for Waste Watch, said: "Every household in the UK throws away over one tonne of waste each year and more than half of this can be recycled. Recycler raps to the children all about recycling and what they can do to help. The children quickly pick it up and join in and it’s a great way to remember important messages and take them home."
