The CIBSE/ASHRAE Conference 2008 will tackle the major issues that managers, clients, architects and planners alike all face in the fight to produce green buildings, says John Armstrong, President of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

"The industry and the public want green buildings and they want them now," Armstrong explained. "But in order to tackle this challenge, the industry needs answers to questions such as how do you provide realistic estimates of the contribution of wind turbines? How do you provide valid but compelling cost benefit analysis of low and zero carbon strategies? How do you find staff with the skills to deliver?"

Answers to these and other practical problems encountered in making sustainability mainstream will be provided at the CIBSE/ASHRAE Conference on 29 - 30 April at the Newcastle Gateshead Hilton. The conference is aimed at those whose core business is making sustainability work for their clients.
