Mole Valley District Council Teams Up With British Gas

Mole Valley District Council has teamed up with British Gas to offer discounted wall or loft insulation and a £75 council tax rebate.

This scheme is open to residents of Mole Valley who own their home or rent from a private landlord.

It is being delivered in partnership because large energy supply companies such as British Gas are required by the government to spend money each year on helping reduce home energy use and their associated carbon dioxide emissions. The savings achieved help the government meet its targets for reducing carbon dioxide emissions and providing affordable warmth.

Leader of Mole Valley District Council, Cllr Tim Hall, said: "Here in Mole Valley we are all committed to reducing the impact we have on the Planets resources. Ensuring that our homes are effectively insulated minimises heat lost which reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emissions and saves us money on our heating bills."

British Gas spokesperson, Claire Page, said: "British Gas is committed to working with Local Authorities in order to help residents save money, energy and the environment through greater energy efficiency in the home. We are delighted to be able to partner with Mole Valley District Council on this project."
